Privacy policy

We ask for very little, and we use it for one thing: to answer you properly. This page explains what that means in practice.

What the enquiry form collects

The enquiry form is the only place this site asks you for anything. When you send a project request, we receive:

  • your name and email address
  • the business name, and its current website if you give us one
  • what the business does, and what isn't working on the current site
  • your timeframe, and anything else you choose to tell us
  • the page you sent it from

Nothing else is asked for and nothing is inferred. There is no account to create, and no mailing list attached to the form.

Why we collect it

So we can reply, ask sensible follow-up questions, and work out whether we're the right studio for the work. If we go ahead together, those same answers become the starting point for the brief. That is the whole of it.

What we never do with it

We don't sell it, rent it, trade it, or pass it to data brokers. We don't use it for advertising, we don't build a profile on you, and we don't add you to a list because you filled in a form. The only outside parties involved are the ones that carry and store the message for us — our email and hosting providers — and they handle it to deliver it, nothing more.

Where it goes, and how it is protected

Your enquiry reaches us as an email and is recorded in our server logs. We take reasonable steps to keep it safe: established providers, access limited to the people who need it, and no copies kept anywhere they don't need to be. No system is perfect, and we'd rather say so plainly than imply otherwise.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as they're reasonably useful to the business, and for as long as we're required to keep business records. Once neither applies, they're deleted. We'd rather describe it that way than name a fixed period we might not hold to.

Analytics

Where analytics is running on this site, it's Plausible: no cookies, no cross-site tracking, no personal identifiers. It tells us which pages get read, not who read them. That is also why there is no cookie banner here — there are no cookies to ask you about.

Access, correction and deletion

Ask and we'll tell you what we hold about you, correct it if it's wrong, or delete it. Depending on where you live, your local privacy laws may give you these rights; we'll honour a reasonable request either way. Email hello@solsticexstudio.com and we'll take care of it. We're based in Australia, so if you're unhappy with how we've handled your information you can also raise it with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
